They are based on a system comprising a spring and a weight which adds damping to the main system.<\/p>\n<p>ESM has developed tuned mass dampers (TMD) which are three-dimensionally adjustable. Vibrations can so be reduced in all three translational directions by only one single damper without any time-consuming development effort. These adjustable TMDs are designed modularly and can be provided with vibrating masses varying from approximately 40kg to approx. 500kg. These dampers cover a frequency range from approx. 50Hz to 600Hz. However, not every combination of mass and frequency can be produced.
