Other gear bearings

Here you will find elastomer bearings for the installation of gears that are not mounted using a three-point suspension.

Free-standing gears can be mounted with simple gear bearings. Their task is to transmit all the forces acting on the system safely and smoothly to the machine frame. They also isolate the structure-borne noise generated by the gear.

Gear bearings affect the dynamics of the complete wind turbine. The correct use of these bearings reduces the vibrations of the rotor blades and the tower.

Multi-sandwich mounts can transmit high forces in the vertical direction with very low stiffnes in horizontal directions. Different housings for the different mounts are also available. For very large forces severalt mounts may be connected in parallel. ESM has also developed mounts with a vertical adjustment system for the easy compensation of assembling tolerances.

With ESM multi-sandwich-mounts, structure-borne noise is isolated by means of a parallel layer system comprising several elastomer layers. Depending on the type and size of the wind turbine these mounts are available with different numbers of layers and in different sizes. Ask us, we'll be glad to help you.

These bearings can transmit particularly high pressure forces at extremely low transverse strengths. The component can be integrated into different housing constructions. For the absorption of greater loads, several elements can be installed in parallel. ESM has also developed mounts with a vertical adjustment system for the easy compensation of assembling tolerances.

Torque strut for a 5 MW wind turbine:
This new type of torque strut can absorb operating deformations of up to 15 mm. The rigidity in the transverse direction is very low. The component can be subjected to extreme forces of over 3,500 kN for short periods.

Gear bearing for a 5 MW wind turbine:
The elastomer sleeve is integrated into a cast housing. This complete module is installed into the gearbox housing. A special membrane protects the elastomeric bushings against the damaging influence of the gear oil.
